All events were patrol based and scored accordingly.

The Penguins and Eagles were both awarded in events in which they succeeded.

Friday night was cold and clear; Saturday started great and promising for good weather - but alas, the fall Western Washington weather tricked up and the rains stated in the afternoon and into the night.  Winds were high at night and caused some patrol tarps to be damaged when we all finally were brave enough to emerge from our tents on Sunday morning.

Overall it was a great camporee - all patrol based, just like it should be!

18 August 2007

WOW!  Great day for sailing and canoeing on American Lake.  The winds were great and the lessons on sailing from Mr. Schoonover and Mr. Kruse (friend of Mr. Schoonovers) were awesome.

There were 14 Scouts and 9 Adults who attended for the day.  Mr.  Nugent provided the good grub for all to eat.  It was a picnic event!  Being Washington, the Scouts got wet (with a little help from the rain!)

For Scouts wanting to work on their Small Boat Sailing and Canoeing Merit Badges - this was a great start.  We hope to do this event again before winter sets in!

21 July 2007

Summer Camp 2007!  We camped at Camp Black Mountain, Mt. Baker Council Camp in Maple Falls, WA area.  Typical Washington weather plagued us most of the week - RAIN!  Interesting to hear the troop from New Mexico complain about it!

There were 25 Scouts and 7 Adults who attended the week.  All Scouts were pretty much soaked by mid-week and there was quite a bit of time to spent in front of the fire drying out the clothes.

There were a total of 27 different Merit Badges that were worked on - most were completed and some that there is no possible way to complete at camp.
Very good week overall in the Scouts accomplishing what they wanted and having a good time at the camp.
